Join my new subscriber chat
A private space for us to converse and connect!
Yo!
People on Reddit say that one key to having a successful Substack is to offer a subscriber chat. They claim that my subscribers—people like you—will think it’s fun. And since the people of Reddit have an impeccable track record of never being wrong, I have started a subscriber chat for the 17 point scale, and you will join and find it fun.
One problem is that I haven’t actively participated in an online chat since I frequented grammar forums in my twenties, so I don’t quite know what I’m doing. Nevertheless, perhaps we will together make it cool. Or perhaps I’ll just type into the wind. That might be fun for the wind and me.
The Substack template for this email suggests that I say more about how awesome this will be. They suggest that I tell you that the chat will be “a conversation space exclusively for subscribers—kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.”
Speaking of jumping, sometimes I make my boys jump before I give them a reward because three- and seven-year-olds are cute jumpers. I bet that you are older than seven and that you rarely get the chance to jump for the sake of jumping. So hop to it! Be cute! Join the discussion!

How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
